Riding the cable car is a fun way to visit Trapani from Erice. Once aboard, you can sit back and soak in the sights as you descend toward the port city.. Being in a small European town with winding narrow streets is lovely… until you have to drive a car. Parking within Erice can indeed be challenging, considering the medieval city is.

Erice is basically triangular in shape, with steep lanes leading up and around from the Porta Trapani gateway, where you'll find the cable-car station (more below on transport).
